To fold an American flag into a triangle shape, fold the striped corner up to the top edge, aligning the outer edge to the top. Then fold the pointed corner to form a second triangle, lining up the edge of the first triangle with the edge of the folded flag. Then continue making triangular folds down the length of the flag until you have made a total of 13 folds. Finally, tuck the end of the flag into the open crease on the side of the triangle so that only the blue area is visible on either side of the flag. Read on to learn how to fold a flag lengthwise! Every time a US service member or veteran passes, an American flag is placed on their casket. Then this flag is folded and presented to the next of kin. This ceremony is a means of expressing the nation's gratitude, as well as a reminder of the veteran's dedication and service to his country. Such an important piece should be commemorated in a display case with a flag that is not only handcrafted in America, but built by American military veterans who understand the importance of this flag. That's exactly what you're doing when you buy a LOA Flag display case. You can be proud to hang your funeral flag on an American Made - Veteran™ item that you and your loved ones will cherish for generations.
This funeral flag display case is handcrafted from solid walnut wood. We do not use chipboard with a faux wood finish as you may see in other, much less expensive display cases. Such cases only last a few years, someone is scratched and scratched, or worse ... chipped and broken. We strictly use REAL hardwood from American mills and sawmills around the country. These hardwoods stand the test of time and ensure your flagship display case is passed down from generation to generation.
Meaning Of A Folded American Flag
American walnut (Latin name Juglans nigra) is one of the most sought-after species in markets around the world and is native to North America. The walnut grows very widely in mixed hardwood forests and farms in the eastern United States, concentrated in the central states, but extending from Texas to the East Coast. The trees are one of the few hardwood species that are planted, emergent, and regenerated naturally. They grow very tall and straight with few lower branches.
The stem of the nut is creamy white, while the stem is light brown to dark chocolate brown, adding to the color contrast. Heartwood sometimes has dark, even purple streaks. Walnut wood is usually flat, although it sometimes has a wavy or curly grain that creates a unique and attractive figure sought by designers.
Janka has a hardness rating of 1010, making it a strong, durable hardwood with beautiful texture and properties. It has high resistance to wear and tear and will last for years. It is a great choice when choosing wood for a showcase or shade cabinet.
